One of the most famous heroic epics is the "Koroglu" epic. From the researches about the Koroglu saga, it is known that he is a semi-mystical folk hero. It is believed that he lived in the second half of the 16th century. Koroglu was one of the leaders of the Jalali movement. The middle of the 16th century - the cities of Turkey, Azerbaijan, etc. in the 17th century. the territories were covered by the peasant movement. One of the Jalali groups in Azerbaijan was headed by Koroglu. According to the legend, Koroglu's real name was Rovshan.
